Review of The Maiden and Her Monster by Maddie Martinez

This spellbinding and enchanting debut is everything that you need in a read as we head into the autumn months. Maddie has weaved a gothic atmosphere together with the roots of Jewish folklore, creating an utterly unputdownable debut!

When Malka ventures into the cursed forest, she doesn’t find the monster she was promised, but a fallen golem with secrets of her own. What follows is a haunting, lyrical story of love, along with a sprinkling of romance, faith, and identity, including queer identity and finding ones self. Loved it!
