Editor

Abi Whitaker

A member of the team since 2021, Abi is our longest standing member. She has an MA in English Literature and Publishing from York St John University and currently works for a B2B publishing company.

Abi is interested in literary fiction, memoir, non-fic and poetry. She particularly likes reviewing books with gender, race, family odyssey or coming-of-age themes. As a proud Northerner, she is passionate about making publishing less London-centric and supporting indie publishers.

Deputy Editor

Helen Daniels

Having worked in the classical music industry for seven years, Helen's two great passions are music (unsurprisingly) and books (also unsurprisingly). Helen is an avid reader of crime thrillers, romance novels and contemporary inner-city fiction with an introspective edge. Now working in the academic publishing industry specialising in books on sociology and social policy, Helen spends her free time either working through her TBR pile, or adding books to her TBR pile. Her life goal is to own the perfect reading chair for those lazy Saturday mornings with a cup of strong coffee and a good book.

Deputy Editor

Victoria Bromley

Victoria is a publishing assistant for Edward Elgar Publishing, combining her love for publishing and academics as an English language tutor. She now lives in Hampshire but is originally from Cheshire and in 2022 graduated from Lancaster University with a first class honours in English Language and Creative Writing. She's also an aspiring writer with a few short stories published in literary magazines and an avid reader who buys way too many books than she can read.

Deputy Editor

Danielle

Danielle has been working in publishing since 2021 and has since added more books than she could ever read onto her TBR pile. She currently works as a marketing executive and is obsessed with social media. Think publishing person with golden retriever energy! Danielle is an avid reader with an eclectic taste, she's very much a mood reader. When Danielle isn't working, she can be found in her comfy clothes lounging with her current read (or giving them a photoshoot), at the gym, binge-watching some reality TV show, as well as spending time with her family
