Review of Bad Publicity by Bianca Gillam

Writer: thedebutdigestthedebutdigest

Andie starts her new job as publicist for a big New York publisher and is horrified on her first day to find out that she’s about to go on a month long press tour with new literary sensation Jack Carlson. Andie knew Jack from university in Edinburgh. They have history. Jack has recently made the move from non fiction to fiction with his debut novel. He’s a smash success. Everyone loves him, apart from Andie.

They don’t talk about what happened five years ago, they have a pact not to left the past affect their professionalism. From London to Paris to Dublin, the pair navigate hotel rooms, radio interviews, bookshop signings while trying to stay away from each other despite the natural pull which brings them back together.

But it’s not just Jack’s unexpected return to her life which has made Andie uneasy. Her mum has a new partner, half a decade since her father passed away, and she’s still grieving his death, there’s no room for her to welcome another man into their family. Her life fell apart with his passing, moments after Jack betrayed her and her life collapsed.

A fast paced, swoony read perfect for fans of Beach Read and Book Lovers by Emily Henry, and You, with a View by Jessica Joyce!
