Review of Missy by Raghav Rao

When I tell you that I was immediately intoxicated by Raghav’s writing, I mean: it was immediate. From page one I was captivated by the voice of Missy (Savi) and I could not put Missy down.

When the wealthy Nandiyar family approaches St Ursula, a convent for orphaned girls in Madras, India, Savi’s dream of a life beyond the walls becomes a reality. 40 years after a traumatic event, Savi now finds herself in America with daughters, success and a whole different identity.

With a fear that the echoes of her old life will begin to destroy her new one, we are thrown into a heartbreaking and unputdownable novel. I loved the development of Missy, her life and relationships, and her strong fierce persona even when faced with secrets that she wished could have stayed buried. Historical, romantic and a great addition to ALL TBRs!!
