January debuts have definitely placed the bar high for this year’s class of debut releases, which includes Motherfaker, a laugh-out-loud novel with a chaotic protagonist that you’re going to almost immediately fall in love with, quirks and all!

Barri Brown is a straight-talking, respected teacher on the island of Guernsey. With daily routines and her eye on a promotion, she’s shocked that she’s been passed over for it for the school principle's best friend, who also happens to be constantly pregnant. With an MIA husband, and fed up of other people’s children ruining her peacefully childless-by-choice world, she sets a plan in motion which includes a pregnancy announcement, seven foam bumps and a maternity leave pay heist!
As well as being absolutely hilarious, bingeable and brilliant, Motherfaker also opens up the floor for discussion, from parenthood to relationships, friendship to childless by choice and more. You’ll be obsessed!
