I was captivated by Only You from the premise alone!

When Dani, a music student, begins to have dreams about two lovers who are doomed not to be together, it begins to really affect her life. In walks studio guitarist, Jones. The two immediately hit it off and Dani finds herself not only drawn to Jones, but falling for him - but why does this love feel so familiar? Well, that’s because Dani and Jones have been in love many times before, in many lifetimes. At this point I was swept away and swooning! It gives The Time Traveller's Wife, but MORE!
The lives that Dani and Jones have shared include a life in Paris in the 1880s, as the daughter of a wealthy landowner and a lieutenant ordered to protect her, then in London as strangers trapped together in the Great War, as well as 1940’s Detroit as an underground boxer and doctor. Their lives drawn to one another over and over again. Not only does Only You look at themes such as soulmates and reincarnation, but also tragedy and identity , which highlights Black experiences throughout history, including culture and heritage.
Celeste’s writing is so beautiful, you will be transported to all of Dani and Jones’ lives, and you will be too. HIGHLY recommend that you pick up a copy this month!
