Review of Once, Again, Always by Amanda Gayle

Settle down with a mug of something warm and delve into the unexpected world of Molly and Aster. Waking up in hospital, Molly is faced with her nemesis, her worst enemy, her high school bully and (apparently) her husband all rolled into one.
It takes a lot to make me feel warm and fuzzy inside but this book did it. I couldn’t put it down. The dynamic between the two is calibrated perfectly, with so much attention to detail as we learnt about their relationship alongside Molly, while also learning about their shared history. I felt the pain of Aster as he had to confront the pains of his past, and I felt for Molly as she struggled to navigate a world she felt like a stranger in.
This story is filled with brilliant characters and the side characters are what bring it to life. I wish I could read this book again for the first time and I know I’ll be picking it up again soon as the colder months draw in and I need something cozy.
