Vi sees a blob on the side of the road and decides to take it home. It looks like a blob fish. It’s alien and strange, but Vi needs something to change in her life while she works an unfulfilling job as a hotel receptionist and has been recently dumped by boyfriend Luke. The blob starts to transform into a body when told to grow a neck, an arm, a torso. Soon Vi has constructed her very own man. She calls him Bob. He goes to dinner at her parent’s, he meets her colleague Rachel who takes a fancy to this Hollywood-star-looking, European stranger. From watching cooking shows on TV, Bob knows how to hold a knife and fork, and from watching reality TV he knows how to flirt. But how long will this last?
Vi’s desperate to find her calling, needing to inject some new energy back into her life. She doesn’t know if a new boyfriend will solve her problems. She doesn’t know if Bob is the answer. But what will she do when Bob doesn’t come home and is left to his own devices in the big wide world? What has her life come to?
A hilarious and witty debut, sure to make you smile and think ‘what the hell is going on?’
