Capitana is a captivating, very slow-burn pirate romantasy which will leave you yearning for adventure with the taste of the sea breeze on your lips.
Our main character is Ximena who is an orphan and has spent her life training at La Academi to become a cazadore, the highest of pirate hunters of the Luzan Empire. Ximena is running from her past. Set on proving that she isn’t her parent’s daughter. The daughter of the notorious Reales, pirate captains who were executed by the Empire. Ximena wants more than anything to prove her loyalty to the Empire, and she plans on doing this by capturing infamous pirate, Gasparilla, who has threatened to attack. Ximena must team up with her arch-nemesis Dante de León, son of the High minister, and competition to the cazadore cloak. This is a brilliant slice of pirate fantasy that I am really hoping is about to develop into a new adventurous series. Although slowly developing, the world and political building of the Luzan Empire definitely sets the scene for a continued series!
