Review of Honey by Imani Thompson

‘Tis the season for hot girl thrillers, and Honey deserves a spot at the top of your list. Dark, twisty, and deliciously unhinged, it has all the ingredients of a scorching read.

Meet Yrsa, who may, or may not, have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. With biting humor and a sharp edge, Honey pulls you into a thriller that doesn’t just entertain, but interrogates issues of racial injustice and afropessimism, particularly within academic spaces.

If you love a sprinkling of dark humour, female rage and a brilliantly messy female protagonist, then Honey is for you, especially if you’re a fan of more literary thrillers such as My Sister, the Serial Killer and Boy Parts.
