Review of I'll Be the Monster by Sean Gilbert

When a homicidal couple decides to take a luxury holiday as a catalyst to save their marriage, not everything goes to plan, especially as years of secrets bubble under the surface, along with self-restraint, especially when a character from their past resurfaces.

I’ll be the Monster is a literary thriller from a unique new voice, which taps into the essence of Donna Tartt and elitism, while also injecting drips of dark humor and developing on the characters who you can’t help but enjoy reading about, even though they’re homicidal killers.

I’ll Be the Monster feels like more of a thriller, but a fictional case study of what makes our main characters tick about the world around them, and each other, especially when an old blast from the past crosses their paths in the Mediterranean. If you’re looking for a book that will thrill you and entertain you, THIS is the book to add to your TBR!
