Review of The Show Woman by Emma Cowing

The Show Woman is a gorgeous, evocative, captivating debut which will have you transported back in time to the circus where friendships and strong female characters can be found, along with family secrets swept up in the undercurrent. After suffering the loss of her dad, Lena must give up the only life that she’s ever known, but when she crosses paths with Violet, 'the greatest trapeze artist that ever lived', they transpire to start up their own circus.

The Show Woman is inspired by the life of a very real person... Read more about that in our guest post piece from Emma herself! Through Emma’s writing, you can feel that she’s put so much heart into all of her characters, to the point where they jump from the page. With themes of identity, empowerment, friendship and freedom, you’ll be transfixed for the entirety of the book, especially as you root for our characters!
