Fans of brilliant, funny, chemistry-filled romcoms—please raise your hand! Unapologetic Love Story absolutely needs to be on your immediate TBR.
From the very first page, in the author’s note, Elle sets the tone with a bold, unapologetic response to stereotypes about autistic people, and to the powerful man who once claimed that “autistic people would never write a poem or date.” This moment perfectly establishes the spirit of the novel and sets the bar for its main character, Rainia Lewis, host of The Disability Track, a podcast celebrating neurodiverse women. and is one of the coolest protagonists ever (I love her so much) and when she meets the ‘King of Cancel Culture’ Tom Branimir, a cynic in his own right, thinks about to get swoony!
The sparks between these two characters don’t even smould until they spark, it’s full-blown fireworks from the get go. As Tom begins to write a piece about Raina, we see both of our characters lower their walls, as Raina begins to soften Tom’s grumpy Scottish personna, while he also teaches her a few things about herself in the most wonderful and tender ways that will have you smiling big, laughing out loud and tearing up.
Unapologetic Love Story is perfect in every way, with nostalgic romcom vibes (gave me Lose a Guy in Ten Days vibes a.k.a elite vibes!) You are going to love it!
